Overnight success is not a real thing. It takes time, effort, consistency, and a lot more as you navigate through your entrepreneurial journey. So, if you’re looking for your success status, it all begins with looking internally at your daily routine. Doing the same things day after day is okay, as long as your habits push you to be your most productive and best self. However, in the hustling and bustling life of an entrepreneur, it can be easy to overlook how you spend every minute of the day.

As a high achiever, you must understand the importance of being intentional with every bit of the day. Here are 15 daily habits that help an entrepreneur be at their very best.

Stop Multitasking

There are many things to accomplish in one workday and you are driven to get it all done, even if it means multitasking, right? Wrong. Multitasking doesn’t really help get anything done to its fullest extent. It could cause you to forget about tasks or details within certain tasks. Instead, it is best to focus on what work needs to be done to move the needle forward. Set goals for the day, week, month, etc., and create deadlines around it. This way you can focus on making the progress your business needs instead of just keeping busy.

Get Out of the Comfort Zone

Understand that with success you must be comfortable with getting uncomfortable. The only way to grow is to put yourself in unfamiliar situations, whether it be a networking event or pitching your business idea. Think about it, staying in your bubble and accepting stagnant growth will only let you achieve that constricted level of success. You must not let the fear of failure or not feeling worthy enough stop you from achieving your dreams.

Focus on High-Value Tasks

You and your business cannot afford to get caught up in low-level tasks that aren’t doing enough to move your needle forward. This is what creating teams or outsourcing is for. As an entrepreneur and business owner, you must focus on high-value tasks that build your 6- to 7-figure business. Learn to restrict yourself to the work that delivers the absolute best possible ROI on your time. Everything else will have you working in circles.

Be Intentional with the First 90 Minutes of the Day

The first 90 minutes of your day is when you have the most energy and willpower. If you do something meaningless, it’s wasting that creativity and energy boost you have. Be sure to spend it reading a book, planning your day, listening to a podcast, anything but mindless tasks like checking your email or social media.

Have a Creative Outlet

It’s great to be strategic and use your logic in business, but give your mind the freedom to get creative every once in a while. Besides, doing something creative is therapeutic and allows you to express what’s going on inside your mind. You can incorporate painting or writing into your daily breaks, or setting time at the end of the day to unwind with a dance class or gardening. You cannot be on 24/7, so needless to say, there are a lot of health benefits from this.

Write It Down

How many times do you tell yourself - I had a great idea but I forgot about it. Or - I was meaning to tell you something but I  forgot to write it down. Break this bad habit and create a  better one by keeping a spare notebook on your side for random strikes of ideas and inspiration, or important details you are going to have to remember. Every few days go back to your notes and lists that you’ve made and make adjustments to your work or routine as needed.

Set Objective Goals

It’s great to write down goals, but setting objectives to the goals can help you better understand the steps you need to take to achieve them. Start by being more specific with how you’re measuring the goal. Then, add the steps to your to-do list, but not all at once so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Stay focused on the step in front of you instead of the whole picture.

Practice Integrity

A motivator once said, ‘Honesty and integrity are by far the most important assets of an entrepreneur.’ When you are dealing with clients, customers, or colleagues, you must create a genuine relationship with empathy. Many entrepreneurs fail because they focus on the sale more than the relationship. Reflect on this and see if there is some room for improvement.

Filter What You Can and Can’t Control

It’s important to maintain a steady focus on your goals. It’s even more important to focus on what you can control. Don’t internalize negative feelings if things don’t go the way you expected because of external factors. Practicing this will allow you to make decisions quickly and decisively.

Spend 20 Minutes at the End of the Day Reflecting

Much like the importance of starting your day, how you end it has its benefits too. Try spending the first 10 minutes reflecting on the day and the goals you wanted to achieve. Then, spend the next 10 minutes planning the next day and your top priorities. This will save you time in the morning from having to do everything at once and will give you a clear vision of what must be done that day.

Get a Good Night's Sleep

Sleep impacts everything from your health to how you look and feel as well as your ability to make decisions. Ensure that you are getting at least eight hours of quality sleep so you can perform at your best for the next day. Some successful people wake up early and go to bed early, others are geniuses at night. Figure out what works for you and doing your best work
