Same Kind of Different as Me - The Movie

A Match Made in Heaven - Really!

If you were to base friendships on commonality, Ron Hall and Denver Moore were worlds apart. Ron was a wealthy art dealer who was driven by outside forces to make him happy. Armani and Chanel were his friends. Denver, was a homeless man and an uneducated former indentured servant raised in a shack and picking cotton. He used his own internal and spiritual compass to survive.

Ron's wife, Debbie, might have been wealthy, but her heart and passion was in helping those less fortunate. She believed in messages from beyond, and it was her vision of Denver in a dream that laid the foundation for a lifetime friendship filled with wisdom and hope.

Deborah Hall: I had another dream last night.
Ron Hall: Was it a good one or was it about me?
Deborah Hall: It was about a poor wise man who changes the city, and I saw his face.

The Cast - Award-Winning Actors

The award-winning cast of Same Kind of Different are all A-list actors:

  • Greg Kinnear, (Ron Halll, is an Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner

  • Renee Zelwegger (Debbie Hall) - Academy Award winner

  • Djomon Hounsou - 2x Academy Award nominee

  • Jon Voight (Earl Hall) - Oscar-winner and 4x Golden Globe winner

Denver: I was so different from other people, but what I found out was everybody’s different, same kind of different as me.

Renee Zelwegger: "One of the things that I love about this story is that there are so many themes of healing. There is spiritual healing, there is literal healing. Then with Debbie and Ron, it is about a long-term relationship that is severely damaged, and worthwhile—worth enough to make the effort to repair it. And by sharing this mission to help other people, they come together again. I am a hopeless, romantic sucker at heart and I found that to be beautiful."
